Abstract Objective Studying the drug resistance of Sligella. flexneri to direct clinical medication. Methods collecting 46 strains dysentery bacilli demeshed from the stool cultivations of the children in hospital during 2003.3~2005.8, Analyzing the bacteria types and susceptibility tests and observing the changes of average days in hospital. Results 46 strains dysentery bacilli detected in bacteria cultivation during 3 years are all shigella. Flexeri serotype and -2αsubtype displaced other types, and the result of susceptibility tests revealed the resistance to many antibiotics increased year by year, and almost complete resistance to erythromycin, ampicillin, oxacillin, SMZ-TPM. The average days in hospital had a prolonged trend, which increased the difficulty to treat the acute bacillary dysentery. Conclusion Shigella. flexneri is the capital serotype of children bacillary dysentery. Clinical medication should accord with the result of susceptibility test.
